Current Research
Thank you to all of the mothers-in-law who participated in interviews this past month. Your interviews yielded great results about the mother-in-law experience. If you are interested in receiving a copy of the study "Tug of War:" Relational Dialectics in the Mother-in-Law/Daughter-in-Law Relationship, please contact me at slmikuc@ilstu.edu.
Thanks again and I will keep you updated on upcoming research projects and participation.

Dear Sylvia, What an intersting subject to research. Thanks for including me in your research. I did not mean to ignore your email but had 46 people here on the 26th (including , of course, DIL's and SIL's) so could not get to my computer for several days...I have no special formular for successsful relationships with my two DIL's or 5 sons in law. The simple Golden Rule of "do unto others..." seems to work. I do love each one because my child has chosen to love them...
Mother-in-Law/Daughter-in-Law Study
My name is Sylvia Mikucki and I am a Master’s student in the School of Communication at Illinois State University. As part of my thesis I am conducting research on emotional experience and expression within the mother-in-law/daughter-in-law relationship.
I am looking for mothers with married sons to participate in an on-line survey that will take approximately 20 minutes. Participation is completely voluntary and all participants will remain anonymous. You may access the survey at www.surveymonkey.com/isumotherinlaw .
If you know any additional people who would like to participate, please feel free to forward this message to them. Also, if you have any additional questions please contact me at slmikuc@ilstu.edu.
Thank you in advance for your participation!

Hi! What a great way to collect data! Wish I could have used the net for my own thesis/dissertation research!
A comment on your survey: I was surprised that you didn't include questions about MIL's supporting DIL's over their sons. There are times when I'd like to sit him down and tell hem how lucky he is to have a wife like her, and to encourage him to show more appreciation. You can never show too much!
Thanks for the opportunity to participate.
